In early 2003, Renault F1 Team (now ING Renault F1 Team) purchased over $1.4 million of VISTAGY's FiberSIM® composite design software and training services to help it meet grueling production schedules and strict requirements set by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). ING Renault F1 Team uses the latest, most innovative design, simulation and manufacturing software to move their high performance racecars from concept to final production in just 6 short months.

Ultra-light, strong composite materials are ideal for Formula One cars, but they present major challenges to designers and manufacturers. Laying up a composite part is a heavily manual, time-consuming process and verifying the part strength of a design prior to laying it up can be difficult. FiberSIM enables ING Renault F1 Team to establish tight control over their manufacturing process, ensure quality and significantly reduce lay-up times. The software also gives them the ability to verify part strength during design.
